Handel, Ravel and Liszt at Newton Public Library

Pianist Stephen Porter will give a concert of Handel’s Suite, Ravel’s Miroirs and Liszt’s Sonata on Sunday, January 24 at 2:00 pm.
Stephen Porter has performed extensively in the U.S., Italy and Turkey. Last season he was the featured guest soloist in a Bach concerto with the Amadeus Orchestra of London; chosen from a field of 32 pianists. He has appeared at notable solo recital venues including Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre and Albert Long Hall at Bogazici University in Istanbul. Mr. Porter graduated magna cum laude from Oberlin College and from the New England Conservatory of Music with Distinction. This year he was invited to judge the final round of the New England Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition.
