She currently resides and works in Easthampton.
Mindful of Color: abstract photographs by Kathleen McBryar
With a practiced eye for composition, Kathleen builds powerful images from color, line, texture and form. The images are much like abstract paintings. Kathleen’s photographs capture and preserve moments of color seen in everyday objects and views that are always seen but rarely noticed. The photos in this exhibit were taken looking through ordinary glass objects that were held up to natural daylight.
The artist is fascinated by the transformation that takes place when we stop and really notice how the light plays upon a simple everyday object. We realize that glass, clear and colorless, can take on the appearance of metal, paint, or wood that is suffused with color. Mindfulness transforms the ordinary into extraordinary.
