From May 2nd through May 24th, prints of Louis Agassiz Fuertes Birds will be on view in the Adult Collections Room for the public to enjoy during library hours. "Edward Howe Forbush (1858-1929), the first Massachusetts State Ornithologist, was one of the founders of the Massachusetts Audubon Society.  In the 1920’s Forbush was able to commission Louis Agassiz Fuertes - whose reputation as America’s foremost painter of birds was by then well established - to create illustrations for his book Birds of Massachusetts and Other New England States.
