Morrill Memorial Library is excited to partner with MA Office on Disability to bring an info session about the role and function of MA Office on Disability (MOD) to the public. The program is called Know Your Government: Massachusetts Office on Disability and it will be held on Thursday May 15 at 6:30PM. Please note that this program is virtual. MOD is a small state agency that provides information, guidance, and training on disability-related civil rights and architectural access. They help people understand their disability rights and obligations, how regulations apply to the specifics of their situation, and practical steps they can take to assert their rights and comply with the law. There are a lot of state agencies and other organizations that serve the disability community. This presentation will help you navigate the government, have more successful government interactions, and learn more about MOD and how they can help you. It does not include legal information. Presenter Bio: Lilia Melikechi is the Communications and Training Manager at the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD). In this role, Lilia works closely with MOD’s experts to create and share plain language, accessible information about disability rights and accessibility. Please note that this program is virtual and is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Zoom link will be provided once you register for the program. If you would like to submit any questions to the speaker beforehand, you will be prompted to do so during the registration process. norwoodlibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/virtual-know-your-government-massachusetts-office-of-disability/
