Created by Jon Waterman, A Journey through the Roots of American Popular Music is a program of songs and stories about characters and events at the origins of the blues, rock and country music. The show is entertaining and informative and is relevant to our story as a people.  Jon Waterman has been performing professionally as a musician and songwriter for over 20 years; his song “Sultana” which tells the story of the Civil War steamboat disaster has been selected to be featured at the Sultana museum in Marion, AR. He has an M.A. in Popular Music History from Prescott College and an M.A. in Psychology from Kaplan University. His B.A. in History is from Northern Arizona University.  This program is being funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
