February Art Reception “Small Works--and Reworkings,” sculptures by Paul Angiolillo

Description :

For three seasons I can work outside, on larger (and messier) sculptures, sometimes destined for an outdoor exhibit in a nature preserve, urban square, city park, art complex, or, last year, an orchard in Southampton, Massachusetts. In the winter, though, my indoor studio space is more conducive to smaller projects, including previous works that I finished--but then decided needed something more--or less. Because ideas usually outrun time and energy, though, many of them—compositions out of found materials, wall reliefs using old frames, semi-abstract carvings out of hardwoods, or grand visions of outdoor installations, have to wait for another season, year, and exhibit.
