Knitting 101 - Learn to Knit a Winter Hat

Join us for a 5-week knitting course on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Throughout the class, you'll learn the fundamental knitting techniques, including how to knit, purl, cast on, decrease, knit in the round with circular needles, make a pom-pom, and read a pattern. By the end of the course, the goal is for you to complete your winter hat.The library will provide circular needles to borrow for the duration of the course. The needles borrowed from the library need to be returned at the end of the workshop.If you prefer to bring your own you will need a US Size 9, 16" Circular needle. We'll also supply yarn for practice and the pattern for the hat. Please bring 100g (165-182 yards) of #4 medium worsted/aran weight yarn and stitch markers.You can choose wool, acrylic, or a blend.Participants are asked to commit to 15 minutes of knitting practice each day to get the most out of the course.
