We are lucky to live in an area so steeped in history! This book club will celebrate that history by exploring the wealth of books about the South Shore. We will meet quarterly on the first Tuesday evening of March, June, September and December at 6:30 pm to discuss a book selection. For the June meeting we will be reading Big Bucks by Ernest Tidyman. Not a shot was fired, the loot was never recovered and, although three people were eventually indicted, no one was convicted of the ingenious 1962 Plymouth robbery of a post office van (used by the feds instead of an armored car to save money) heading up Route 3 from Cape Cod to Boston, packed with $1.5 million in bank deposits from a big summer weekend. Books will be available to check out at the circulation desk of the Main Library four weeks prior to the meeting date.
