Star Wars. The Wizard of Oz. Aladdin. Harry Potter. Encanto. These are films which are memorable for their stories and visual elements, but also because of the wonderful music composed for and performed in them. The Boston Saxophone Quartet (BSQ) has a bagful of arrangements — ranging from charming to exciting — of tunes from these films, and will return to perform them at the Walpole Public Library, 143 School Street, on Wednesday afternoon, June 18, at 4:00. This timing has been chosen to enable more children, youth, and elders to enjoy the concert. They also plan to play some classic songs that inspired the titles and concept of films: ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’ and ‘St. Louis Blues’. Plus, on the roster there are songs made popular by The Beatles, The Jackson Five, and João Gilberto. And they have more jazz and ragtime selections for toe-tapping. As with the previous two BSQ performances at our library, admission is free because of sponsorship by the Friends of the Walpole Public Library, and all are welcome. This presentation is also supported in part by a grant from the Walpole Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency
