Location : Zoom

End : Tuesday 23rd of September 2025 3:00 PM

Description :

Join Jeff Klapes, the Traveling Librarian, for a different take on his popular armchair travel presentations. One of the joys of travel is the opportunity to learn about different cultures and ways of life, but language can be a barrier to your experience. This presentation will discuss the many methods and tools you can use to learn a foreign language, taking examples from Jeff’s own personal experience (French and Greek). Whether you’re just planning a short trip, or aiming for fluency, this presentation will give you advice and sources to help you on your language learning journey. Jeff is the retired Head of Reference Services at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and an avid traveler and photographer. RECORDING NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program. This program is hosted by the Tewksbury Public Library in partnership with other area libraries and is sponsored, in part, by the Friends of the West Newbury Library.
