About the Book:Created for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, this new illustrated volume brings together often-overlooked stories of the Revolution on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket from 1761 to 1783. Written by 24 authors coordinated through the Cape and Islands Historians Committee, the book explores local battles, privateering, divided loyalties, British shipwrecks that aided the Patriots, the contributions of African American and Native American soldiers, and ten influential figures from the region who helped shape this pivotal era.
